The Ribbon Wreath Project
These charming little wreaths are fun and easy project. You'll need a Styrofoam wreath base in the size of your choice. Various ribbon scraps, satin, grosgrain or otherwise in 4.5 inch lengths and LOTS of them. I estimate it's approximately 14 yards of 1 1/2 inch wide ribbon cut up. Then you simply pin the ribbon (shaped into a circle), into the Styrofoam wreath. Viola...you're done! Watch for more variations on this idea coming in November of 2008!

Gift from the bride...
Finding a fun gift for the children that are participating in the wedding party can be a challenge! Ribbon Wands are a great gift idea for flower girls, guest book attendance, and any other young family members and friends who have contributed time and service benefiting the bride and grooms special day. The wand colors can be matched to the wedding colors or chosen specifically for the recipient. Not only do they add a spirit of fun to the festivities, but the photographer will be eager to capture the children twirling and laughing at the event. To find out more about Ribbon Wands click here.

Feedback
This was some feedback sent to me from Michelle in Australia who purchased a Ribbon Wand for a friend and had it sent to her home as a surprise:
Thank you so much from Madeleine for her wand, she just loves it!!!! It arrived this morning………………she is wooshing round the house with a cat following her!!!!! Her big sister wants her to go and have a sleep so she can have a go!!! Such a brilliant idea!!!
Upward and onward
The thing about having your own little business is you're always learning. There are new things that greet you every single day and no day is the same as the day before. Last week, I was able to take a bit of a business break and deal with some other areas of my life, which then slowed me down just long enough to get sick. Blurgh! I'm very happy to be back in the swing of things as the past few very sick days have NOT been fun.
Something that came up is that one of the gals who ordered a Ribbon Wand received the base broken in two. So somewhere on route this little bubble mailer and packaged wand within were manhandled to the max by our good postal services, Canadian and American respectively, because I've tried to break a wand and I can't do it folks! Well, I feel so bad for this gal, and have happily complied with her requests to right the situation. In over 120+ Etsy packages mailed out, this is a first. It's a perfect example of another learning opportunity, another challenge to keep making the product and packaging better and to meet the needs of clientèle. It's all good...

Healthy Obsession
The wonderful Twilight Series of books by Stephenie Meyer has inspired a Ribbon Wand. I loved the black glossy covers of her book and the bold red and white objects and with the third book especially, I could see the beginnings of a Ribbon Wand. This was completely inspired by this cover:
Okay, it's official, I'm having too much fun!
